Celebrating Spring

Hi there, Kathy here today with the new Funky Fifteenth challenge from Funky Hand
It's great that the sun is shining and the birds are singing as I'm writing this message because I've chosen
Spring Celebrations
as our theme for this month.
This weekend here in the UK is Mothering Sunday, and Easter is just around the corner - but maybe you have birthdays and anniversaries during the Spring months to make things for - or let's face it - just celebrating the end of Winter and the arrival of Spring is cause enough to feel chirpy and get creative.
You can make or decorate anything you like....Easter Baskets, Bookmarks, Cards, Wall-hangings....anything goes as long as you are celebrating Spring.
Please don't forget that
YOU MUST, MUST. MUST USE A FUNKY HAND PRODUCT TO ENTER
- it's the only rule we have around here
Don't worry if you don't have any Funky Hand Stash (yet), as there's always a special one-month-only Funky Freebie to be found HERE, which you can use to join in and get creative with us

You have until the 14th of April to enter and be in with a chance of winning a fab Funky Hand download of your choice.
When you've got your project ready to share, just
add you link below

Here's my own project for this month

I can't decide whether to keep this as a card, or add a loop to the reverse and make it into a hanging for my wall!

 Notes:
*I printed the verse onto my backing paper, leaving enough space around the wording to add the frame over the top
*I joined strips of paper together to make a piece long enough to create the paper frill and a scoring board to make the score lines.  Mine is an Imperial one and the scores are made at alternate inch and half-inch distances, thus at
1", 1.5", 2.5", 3", 4", 4.5" etc
Once the scores are done the pleats take shape almost by themselves.  I use a length of tape to hold them in position then adhere to the card.
*The frame is raised on small pieces of chipboard
*The faux brads are made from scraps of paper, adhered to cereal packet chipboard - I use any suitable sized circle from my Cuttlebug die collection to cut them - in this case it's the centre of a flower shape.

Materials:
Funky Hand CD Craft the Year Away - I've used papers from the Marching On and April Fool collections
Matching shades of Seam Binding to make a layered bow
Organza flower with pearl centre
Lemon Ice Stickles
Tools:
Spellbinders dies, Cuttlebug die to make the faux brads
Hand-cut coiled flowers
Corner-rounder punch

I hope you like this and will feel inspired by our Spring theme to join in with us this month - don't forget to use that Funky Hand stash though or you won't have the chance of winning the prize
Remember to pop back and visit every few days as there'll be new projects from DT members appearing here over the whole month
Happy Crafting
Kathy xx

  1. This is really pretty and beautiful springlike colours - it is just around the corner if we could see through the thick fog we've had all week. Thanks for sharing the idea of pleating the paper trim
